Basement Jacked | Radiohead | Four Tet Remix

When Radiohead performed a live set from their latest album King of Limbs, fans could not have wished for more, but again this spectacular band surprised us. On Radiohead.com the band has been releasing an on going series of remixes of tracks heard on their Basement-jacked King Of Limbs LP. The group has been praised in the music industry for many years for their innovation and pioneering of new musical styles, approaches, and direction. Their pick-your-price 2007 album, In Rainbows, was enough to give Lars Ulrich a stroke. This recent project, however, invites other artists and producers from all strokes to take a shot at injecting their own personal style to the beautiful melodies of King Of Limbs. Enjoy these tracks released earlier this afternoon, including one by popular post-rock and electronic musician Four Tet. Listen UP. RABBLE on.

Still Moving | Pretty Lights

It has been two weeks and this music blog still cannot erase the wonderfully executed Lightning In A Bottle from its mind. Mostly we will never forget when Derek Vincent Smith, aka Pretty Lights, decided to take three of the 90s best alternative bands, and mash together one hell of an elegant downtempo b-b-b-banger. This guy outdoes his every last move, and he provides it to us all for free [DOWNLOAD HERE]. It was approximately a year ago that theRABBLE paid tribute to Pretty Lights resulting in this music blog’s most downloaded track of all time “Finally Moving” (pre-copyright infringements). If you still have not taken our word for it and purchased your ticket to witness electronic music artist Derek Smith and his drummer Adam Deitch compliment each other with every drop of the bass, then we have failed to promote this musical experience enough. “All Apologies.” Move in a little bit “Closer” to the sounds projected from your portable laptop, and witness “Everything In It’s Right Place.” Listen UP. RABBLE on. Cause it’s FRIDAY.

Return of the [Limb's] King

If you haven’t had a moment to spin Radiohead’s new album The King of Limbs, I’m here to save your day. This album is proof that bands of a different decade need not retreat into a cave of repetition, but should embrace that gift that once gave them their stardom status, or at least placed their song over the airwaves. Properly titled “Feral,” this track releases the band from its writing captivity. The drum kits resurface the life of previous tracks like “15 Steps,” while incorporating foreign elements of dubstep and glitch. The a capella  sounds from Thom Yorke provide the listener with comfort. As the tones of the song rise and fall, the track evolves, but it always stays the same. The fuzz of the deep distorted bass remind the listener that things after Kid A will never be the same. Truthfully the track leaves me wanting more (cliche I know). Listen Up. Rabble On. Radiohead – Feral

King. Radio. Limbs. Head.

In only a few days the beloved Radiohead will be bringing us another masterpiece. The band has unveiled that their new album, The King Of Limbs, will be gracing our eager ears on Saturday, February 19. While taking a few years from recording to do some solo work and touring, this historical band is here to save the day from the wretched sounds proven to be Grammy worthy the other evening. Unlike the name-your-price model of their previous album, In Rainbows, this album will be available in two pay-for-music formats. The LP is being proclaimed “the world’s first Newspaper Album” including two 10-inch vinyl albums, one CD, “many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork, and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together,” all for $48. I know, this is unreasonable to most. Therefore, you are able to download the digital format for the low price of $9. Pre-order your copy at the album’s website here.

In the meantime, checkout this dirt nasty remix of their hit song “Reckoner” by The Twelves. Radiohead – Reckoner (The Twelves Remix)

Everything In It’s Right Place | AmpLive

Every person has those moments that they will never forget. First kiss, first time driving, first time getting high, and most importantly, first time being moved by a live musical performance to the point of nirvana. The year was 2006, the location was Bonnaroo Music Festival, and the band was Radiohead. Regardless of the days experimentation and adventures, that moment, standing with the only person who shared the same love of Thom Yorke and company as I did, will never be erased from my mind. Radiohead conducted one of the most theatrical and moving sets I have witnessed to this day. There was something in the air that night, and it wasn’t the smell of the bohemian youth surrounding us. No, it was something much more. It was “Everything In It’s Right Place,” the exact. fucking. right. place! I wish I could sit here and describe Radiohead using colorful vocabulary and emotion, but the fact is, this band has too many elements to be broken down into words. This band is the modern music revolutionary. There landmark internet release of In Rainbows for free in 2007 is just one staple of their incredible career.  I am definitely a skeptic of other artists’ attempts to recreate or remix the ingenious work of Radiohead, but AmpLive on his album Raindayz Remixes proved to be quite impressive. Not to mention it is available for free as the group would have wanted it. So be open-minded and tune in. Listen UP. RABBLE on.
