Yerba Mate Mashup

Oh, you haven’t heard? I was under the impression that everyone had heard…

Well here it is! This delectable herb has drifted all the way from South America into the cups of thirsty caffeine seekers around the nation. For all the coffee lovers out there, there is finally a substitute that packs a punch big enough to call itself coffee’s long lost twin cousin – with a bit of a twist. Mate has been used in Argentina and Brazil….as is tradition…for over a century now.

Although the traditional use is performed by soaking water in the mate leaves and stems, proceeded by filling a gourd with the hot water and passing it around a group until finished. Once finished, well, they start again! The mate leaves can be used and re-used as long as desired for maximum pleasure. The caffeine buzz is not quite the same as coffee, for it embodies a focused, mellow level of concentration and attentiveness - without the shakes and increased heart rate.

Think Different | Steve Jobs BBC Documentary

“The difference between invention and innovation is that you execute. You take an idea and turn it into a reality – bring it into the marketplace. Steve connected the dots.”

Steve Jobs has been the topic of much conversation over the last few months, and well deserved. This man was not only a visionary, but a leader into a brighter future where technology serves society. This Tech-Hippie changed the world, and coincidentally alike many of the worlds greatest artists, his fame accelerated upon his passing.

“The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that do.” Steve Jobs was one of those “crazy” thinkers – who believed in the impossible and was satisfied with nothing short of greatness. Take a look at this BBC documentary and explore Steve’s successes and tribulations.

Chali 2na | Harmony Project Interveiw

This man has a voice like no other. His style of music and art give him a vibe unlike any other musician. Popularized by the group Jurassic 5, Charles Stewart, or better known as Chali 2na, made his way into the limelight with confidence and humility. Alike many other hip-hop artists, Charles too was told that he would never make it as an artist and he should find himself a “real job”. I think I speak for many music enthusiasts when I say I am very happy that he listened to his gut on this one.

Amplive – Reckonerz (ft. Charli2na)
